For cheapness try Panasonic or JVC. I got a sony dcr-trv11 for around £1100, you may get a JVC for about £800. Most mini-dv cams do have analog out / firewire out / lcd screen. Cheaper ones have dv-in disabled as a loophole to get around paying extra tax at customs, since a cam with dv-in is classified as a vcr. Its easy to get a seperate widget to enable dv-in tho.

where do you live; London is a good place to buy if you can get there.
