Area 51 - Epidemic

Anyone ever heard this song? I think it was around 96' can't be sure about that. Nobody still has it in stock, tried all the web searches, nothin came up. Can anybody tell me where I can get this song, if any shops specialise in stocking song's that have gone off production?

I bought it in Abbey Discs on Liffey St. around that time. It's done by an Irish crowd, and frankly I didn't think it was the greatest thing I'd heard, but said I'd give them some support nevertheless.

If you're really interested in a copy I'm sure we could sort something out.

Christ you seem to want this tune bad. Right I just had a good route through my CD collection, and I still have it (in it's original casing and all ).

this explains a lot, i tried downloading exit eee - epidemic a couple of months ago, thinking it was the tune your on about, but couldnt remember it sounding anything like that. (the exit eee one sounds like ariels a9)

i think it's a little like spqr you won't get them on vinyl of the net coz i think there only ever released in ireland(don't qoute me on that)as far as i know some irish dj'sare meant to be releasing area 51 but it'll probably be a hard house type version

Just to set the record straight Area 51 are two guys from near Birmingham, England. Darren Millington (me) and Tony Alleyene and the track Epidemic was just really a quick add on to our EP "the power within". I would love any info as to the happenings in Ireland regarding this track as we were both screwed over by Abbey discs and to a lesser extent Other Peoples Music / Opium Illusion records (based in London to which the track was originally signed) so we didn't hear a thing. Plus the new version cd was out in 2002 ish and i only heard of it whilst looking at the net!!!! I would to hear the new remixes if any one has them.

I heard the remix (harder) on dublin pirates i think a few years back well before the release, it was being plugged by the guys at the time. I think so anyway but ive a terrible memory so it coulda been somewhere else?. Never saw it make the shops but I stopped going to Abbey Discs around that time! Remix didnt do it full justice; sorry cant be more helpful.

For what its worth I absolutely loved the track as a youngster! Cheers.

Abbey Discs re-released it last year (or was it this year??) on vinyl, I got meself a copy of it in HMV. Abbey might still have some in stock. I prefer the original mix to the new remixes.

Cheers, it's just that i didn't know about the remixes or the subsiquent release untill i tripped over it on the net!!! Just prooves that in the dance music world the real stars are the over paid DJ's on the remix never mind the actual writers. Ooh, how bitter and twisted do i sound!! Well maybe Abbey Discs / Dance will have to pay me some more money, it seems that they didn't go bust after all.

That abbey discs website is brutal, nothing on it at all & its out of date. What are the actual words to Epidemic? I can never figure out the words are after "we got the drum & the beat here we go <something><something>"???? I might even have that bit wrong????!!!??

I remember that tune. I liked it at the time. Then I got Tony De Vit live in Tokyo and liked that even more. I then lost both when moving house.

I dont know anymore. Will D/L later.
