    I cannot vouch for its veracity, but thought you guys might be interested ..:
    SkyDigital STB Software Upgrade Expected within Weeks

    It is rumoured that a SkyDigital set-top-box software upgrade for both standard and Sky+ systems will take place within the next few weeks. Features expected to be added include:

    1. The ability to switch subtitling for the deaf on or off using a coloured key;
    2. The ability, by pressing a key during a trailer for a TV show, to enter that show into the "Personal Planner" for automatic recording or for an on-screen reminder-prompt;
    3. A time-entry facility for manual recording on Sky+ --as on a standard VCR;
    4. 2 minutes of "padding" at either end of a show recorded on Sky+;
    5. the ability to "remember" which shows the user recorded within the last week. If the set-top box "sees" that the viewer has recorded more than 1 episode of a particular show, it will either automatically record subsequent episodes or send out reminder-prompts whenever those episodes air. This feature is designed to get around the shortcomings of the "Series Link" feature, which requires broadcasters to upgrade their EPG-related equipment before the feature can be used.
    6. An extension of the "A-Z Listings" EPG option to provide more information and greater ease of use.

    Im not sure if I ask here,but software "upgrade" worries me.
    The worst thing would be if sky removed the "Other" channels menu so you couldnt tune the box independantly. Isnt this on sky+ digiboxes ?
    Is there a way to block a forced download by sky. Id be more interested in this>

    Sky+ 's other channels feature is identical to the regular Sky Digiboxes with the exception that Other Channels is option 7 on the services menu.
