    "Fuck me"
    Has anyone seen this film?
I know the IFC will be showing it shortly, but it was released in France a while ago and unfortunately I did not have the time to go see it.
    Has anyone here seen it?
    Opinions please.

This is an excellant film,it's kind of a female natural born killers.
Some scenes are very funny but also some of it is a bit rough. Both of the female lead's are French porno star's and they showcase their talent's very well.I have only seen the Canadian dvd of this so hopefully I will be able to see it on the big screen.

Well, as far as I know Baiser means "kiss", it also means "to screw" and my interpretation of "baise moi" is "screw me".
When I originally heard about this film however, it was subtitled "fuck me"

All that means is that I'm not too sure to be honest.

Aside from the argument over what the name means and the obvious controversial aspects of the film, I really wanted opinions on whether the film was worth seeing or not.

BJJ and global, could you expand on your comments please ?

Yeah I saw it here in Australia a week before they banned it like all the other countries.

Its got full on graphic violence and pron. you see everything.
It has a rape scene at the beginning which is quite disturbing, not the kind of film you would take someone to see on a first date.

I've never heard a direct translation of the title, I'm sure it's something like "Fu<k me" or "Rape me".

Baise in French means to lower.

    Yup it means fuck.
I was just watching La Haine and at the very start Siad writes on the back of one of the SWAT vans "Siad, Baise La Police" translation in subtitles "Sayid f**k the police"

    You're right:
    un baiser: a kiss (noun)
baiser: to kiss or to screw (more accurate than ****)

As forthe film, I saw it, it's excellent. Well, I enjoyed it and I would advise you to go.

However French Slang often translate badly in Slang English and the subtitles from La Haine are far from accurate.

But then again, there are a lot of subtleties that will never be translatable in any languages, and when you see English speaking films translated in French, the biggest drama often becomes a comedy...
