Lads - call over to my house on Sunday afternoon and we'll all head down for a look. Early enough mind you - I'll be awake (hopefully).

I'm definitely up for a few pints during the airshow. (I'm pretty sure that I'll be in Galway on sunday and if I am I'm up for it!)

Seeing that I'm just up the road anyway I might as well call down.

    sweeet :)

JP, what's the story with that bottle of sangria?
Is it open season or what?
If i'm cleared for exams tomorrow I'm going to go through half of it.

Weiss bier is lovely, but gives you aweful gas.

I probably won't be able to make it, coz it's Mom's birthday on Sunday, and I have already made reservations for a meal.

    Sorry folks :(

Dav we'll have to head out for a few drinks one of the days. It's been a while :)

    Thursday?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,322 ✭✭✭phobos

Yeah I would definately be on for Thursday if any of ye want to have a few. We haven't had an official drinkies for quite a while. It's a little short notice for a lot of people I would think.

But you have my name etched in stone anyway ;)

    Blue Note, yeah?

yeah, spose so, or Roisin Dubh or Munroe's?

Moo moo, and a moo moo.
    Ho ho ho!

Either pub is fine, but Rosin is probably better.

I dunno about Roisin Dubh, Ken. I had a look there and apparently some band called Charis are playing on Thurs night. Fair enough entertainment is nice, but when a "5 piece rock act" get together, it's never a nice quiet pint affair.

I'm not really bothered to be honest. But merely as a suggestion does anybody want to venture closer to town (perhaps the Kings Head, Taffes, or maybe something new). Change is always nice. I'm not knocking pubs on Domnick St. per sé, but rather expanding the horizons for Galway drinkies.

I thought that the AirShow was excellent despite the rain.

    German Solo Tornado.

Two RAF Torandos (including a mid Air Refuelling)

    Two US Air force F16's.

    Other assorted Aircraft and Choppers

And my favourive the two US Chinook's

some lovely high speed fly overs at low altitude and some sideways flying. Cool!

    I missed the B1 :(

Thing is fackin huge, black and smooth ;)

I saw a few boats out there allright Ruaridh.
    Did you get many pictures?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,719 ✭✭✭Ruaidhri

i did not take any pics :(
    i was fishing aswell(http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?threadid=57032)
probably should of.ah well. we were passed a few hours before by a HUGE jet(it was not in the airshow it had the shape of a concord, was black and had 4 jet engines???) and a helicoptor, which checked out us and our boat(they hovered about 150feet off our boar for about 2-3 mins)

weird?me thinks they were looking for terrorists?

all in all it was cool not to be in the crowd and be WAY closer to the aircraft :)

    that was a B1 bomber.
Not outright stealth, but it is sheer class.
Very low RCS, ca follow terrain ("nap-of-the-earth") and looks shít cool.

I'd say it was the loudest there :)

Apart from the rain, €3 hot-dogs and an over long stint of Aer Arann fly-by's to buy time everything was very good. Pity I didn't see the B1 tho.
