An opportune time to rehash an old joke.

    Question:
Which player in the current World Cup is the best endowed?

    Answer:
Brazil's Ronaldinho.......because he can lob Seaman from 35 yards.

given that both have been done before (the lob and the joke) it makes you wonder.......

Yup and true to form ,Rioting in English pubs as i type.
Wonder if that will be shown on Sky News.
    I doubt it
great goal ,would have been a better game if Ronaldinho wasnt sent off.
but England didnt manage a shot in the 33 min they had 11 men.

    Well they had 2
one from Danny Mills which was deflected over and that cross from Sheringham which *almost* hit the target :p

England were poor. They didn't seem to have a clue going forward and this was against Brazils defence.
BRazil arent exactly wizards at defending.

One thing i found funny tho was the fact that rivaldo was back defending at one point :)

I fancied England to go through but their performance with the extra man for 33 minutes was very poor. They resorted to hoofing it into the box and even then the ball was going wide or to the keeper.

In the second half they never really troubled a Brazil defence that apart from Lucios cock up looked a lot better than in previous games.

Was a bit of a roller coaster this morning - I woke to sheer panic as the radio reported england was 1-0 up, ran down stairs to watch England bratwurst for a while before a cracker of a Brazillian goal, which prompted much joy - Was delighted when the Brazillians got their second, and was panicky again when they went down to ten men, but truth told it never looked like 10 men against 11. So the good guys and the better team won. Mostly Im just incredibly relieved - spent the last few days worried sick England would actually win the WC, 1966 hasnt even died down yet ffs. Thankfully there is a God though.

Brazil deserved the win for thier "professionalism" they changed thier game plan, as I suspected they would after the Belgium game. The acting was fantastic by Rivaldo, he should get an Oscar! I did'nt like Carlos getting pally with the ref, the time wasting was extravagant...still they got the goals and goals win games. Oh for a fit England team (and Macca).

Still one level better than Ireland. ;)

    Mike.

I was delighted to see Brazil win but they way they did it was dodgy at times. Throwing them to the ground almost as bad as those bloody germans.
The latest skill needed for footie seems to be acting

At the end of the day I said getting to the Quarterfinals and beating Argentina was enough for me. It was great for me to see England play Brazil in a world cup, they aren't exactly the best Brazil team ever and we should have exploited that. I think England had a great chance of beating Brazil and getting to the final.

When Brazil went down to 10 men (I think it should've been just a yellow) they didn't change their game at all. They just played with 2 forwards instead of 3. That's very good for Brazil, but we didn't change either. When you have an advantage of 1 man for 30 minutes, you should use that man. We shouldn't have still been under pressure, we should've passed the ball about and wait for an oppurtunity rather than hoofing it up field.

Fair play to Brazil and Ronaldinho, they caught us asleep and woke up a defence that had been pretty much sound throughout the tournament. If I could point my finger at one thing and say "that's why we lost" it would be that we can't keep the ball, which is especially important when you are 1 up. Roll on 2004.

To summarise: Brazil were much better, we were poor.

After reading all the papers today, seems it was Seamnas fault .
I cant believe noone hit on the fact that Brazil were taking control of the game until Ronaldinho sent off ,they would have scored more.
In a way England were lucky he was sent off.

Not as good as the teletext headline from a few years ago where the England goalkeeper missed a match for Arsenal due to injuring his hand which went as follows "Seaman forced out with sore hand"
