I was just looking for a dedicated server and after going to burst.net and leaving I noticed that anything with Server or dedicated was underlined and in a lighter colour. But it wasnt like a normal link so I clicked view source and didnt see any link tag around the word and didnt notice any serious javascript in the head. So my question is are these smart tags? I heard something about them but nothing special, I havent upgraded my OS or browser in a while so dont know what it is. Any help?

If it was a yellow tag you probably installed that software that comes with Kaaza.

    Is that what is??
I was wondering actually, because I thought it was a google keyword or something!

I noticed stuff like casino was always highlighted etc.

Nevermind, I think I can put up w/ it, considering all the cool stuff I d/l w/ Kazaa. [ dreamweaver, flash 5, fireworks, paintshop pro, adobe go live.....the list goes on !!]

One of the reasons I don't like it is that it hijacks links.

Lets say in above example the word virus linked to Symantec, Toptext will change that link to point to another site. Although it will tell you there is a second link there, I think this is nuts.

Bad enough most of the search engines feed you adverts instead of valid searchs (Altavista the most blatant), I draw the line where they change something I am looking at.

It is part of Kazza but can be removed separatley too. Its called something like "Toptext" or similar, youll find it in add/remove programs. I had this problem too when i installed Kazza. It highlighted Anti-Virus on Symantecs web site and brought a link to McAfee!!! smile.gif opps
