lo again, quick q on dial up with the imac...

    ok so we have a modem already installed and a phone line, are there any particular settings we need to know about etc if we are going to set up an imac to dial up to eircom/oceanfree isp etc?

    Where are the tcp/ip properties etc located pls anyone? modem settings etc, any info would be great help or I'll have to go an hour out of me way to get this geezer set up :(

    OS 9 or OSX?
    OS9= Control panels - tcp/ip if I remember
    OSX= "Internet Connect"

    Thanks Gordon, he's got both os's on it atm, I think he prefers using os9 for some reason though........

    Madman he is, yes.
    OSX is dead easy if he wants to do that though!

    Control Panels => TCP/IP
    Make sure "connect via" is PPP
    DNS servers are optional.

    Control Panels => Remote Access
    Enter phn number, username & password

    Press connect to dial.


    ...and that's it.

    There's a control strip module for remote access, so it's easiest to dial via that.
