Not a huge selection but the prices seem quite reasonable. One that really caught my eye was "The Godfather Trilogy (5 Discs)" price €50.75. It cost £47.99 on play.com, that works out at about €80 and it's about that price in Golden Discs, dunno about HMV.
Anyway I think I may just buy it tomorrow.
On another point I think it is brand new and not ex-rental, it's on the stand with all the brand new DVDs anyway.

Yeah you are seeing their price correctly for a brand new (unviewed previously) copy of the Godfather triology box set. When I first saw it in my local Xtravision, I thought I was seeing things. I put it down, and went out to the pass machine to get cash to buy it. When I came back their was a pesky bugger in the queue for the till, with it in his hands. It was the last copy too, I found out later.

One thing about Xtravision, I they have a DVD you like for sale, buy it quick. That's the way I'm working from now on.

Yeah Xtravision is my little secret weapon when it comes to dvds, usually 2 for €33, which is sweet cause you can usually get decent deals, i got the cell and the Cape Fear box set (With both versions of the movie and an Extras DVD) for €33 just the other day, got the planet of the apes box set for 57 in there at crimbo.
got sexy beast and sword fish on dvd for €18, previously viewed.

The one thing Iv found about buying the already veiwed DVD's from Xtra-Vision is that the prices varies big time from one store to another.

The one below where I work is so cheep compaired to others in the near vacinity it's unreal.Normaly about €5-10 cheeper.

If you see a bargin you want, just ask the counter jockey at the desk to hold it for you for a short while so you can nip out and get the cash from the AMT machine :)

as a former "counter jockey" i object to the term "counter jockey"

Just been in to rent some DVDs and I had a look at the DVDs for sale section, some good prices, especially the 2 for €33 ones, I picked up American History X and Snatch for €33, nice :).

nothgin to do with xtravision but other deals:

Virgin (usually a ****e place for dvds) have the amazing Jesus' Son in its 3 for €45 offer.. get it while its cheap (last time i seen it in HMV it was €38 on its own!)..

also on the subject of prices i'm reliably informed that Family Guy Season 1 is the miserable price of €32 in Golden Discs (i have yet to see it and buy it myself tho).. its ~€34 on play iirc.

Tesco sell them cheaper than other places too it would seem. Apocalypse Now Redux €21.75. Along with a load of other newish releases for the same prices. They cost €25 on play so it's not too bad and you have the added bonus of getting them straight away.
