Irish team for Irland vs Saudi

Ok I wrote before about tema players , team spirit and team formatiuons?

what team should Ireland use and what players?

Now I don't know much about the Irish team but I know the Irish can and should beat the Saudi Arabians. Will Quinn or Kilbane or McAteer play, should we use a a 5-4-1 3-5-2 or 3-5-2?

Irish so far have used a typical Prtugese/English/Swedish style but to beat the Saudis should a Argentine or American 5-4-1 be used?

    I say play

    3-4-3

Use Morrison Robbie and Quinn up front
    use constant attcaks.

Have Reid Holland Kinsela and Duff central with Reid and Duff drifting forwrd all the time. This will win the midfeild

Play Steven Staunton , Gary Kelly and Gary Breen for leadership at the back

Go for a 4-4-2 with Keane & Quinn upfront and Duff on the left.

team will be simple, just put all the squad in a line and pick Given in goal and Reid and Duff on the two wings and then 8 tallest players left :)

.... and Lee Carsley will miss out yet again! :(:)

Best thing to do is play the exact same 11 that played against Germany. Take off Harte at half time if he isn't doing the business but at least have him there in case the Saudi disicipline is suspect around the box.

I don't think Saudi are going to fold in the air against us the way they did with Germany. They looked a lot tighter against Cameroon yesterday and I think we're going to have to play to our strengths rather than changing our game just cos everyone thinks we'll beat them in the air with Quinn.

In my opinion it's a really bad idea to totally change your style of play. They should start with the same team as against germany, and then review the situation at half time (ie. morrision and quinners). But hey what do i know? :)

I'd have to agree with Sheron and Pigman. Put out the same 11 that started against Germany.

Obviously Quinners is going to be an option at some stage, but we shouldn't change our game to suit our opponents. Thats something for the underdogs to do. We are good enough to impose our game on the Saudis.
And i'd leave harte on, cos i think this time Duffer will draw fouls around the box, once the Saudis loose there cool.

    Bring it on!
    You'll never Beat the Irish!!!

Yeah I reckon same starters as the Germany game, for leadership and confidence. Kelly, Breen and Staunton at the back in their own does not inspire confidence.

Well I just hope we dont screw it up, it would be fierce embarassing for them to put just 1 in against us !!

I feel we have a great chance of beating them for 3 reasons

    1. I beat the Saudi's, 7-0 as Ireland in pro evolution soccer at level 5 on the ps2, against the computer.

    2. To see if it was a fluke i challenged a friend to similar match which i won quite comfortably 8-1.

    3. Then i trounced my girlfriend 11-0 to see if we had the physical and mental ability to beat the Saudi women team.

Conclusion: The outlook for the game is very optimistic.

imo duff is the bext player ireland have got since the Roy Keane affair. next in line would be Holland, Robbbie Keane or Kinsella.

I'd liek to see those threee dominate the midfield, with duff as an attacking midfeilder

I HAVE A DAY OFF FROM LEAVING CERT FOR THE MATCH WooT! :D

I'm not sure what to do with this one.

Use the team we've used in the previous games but if we go 2-0 or 3-0 up change the formations.

To a mid feild of Duff Holland Kinsella Kellly and Finnan

    Then
    Use a 3-5-2

    or

    3-4-3

Take Duff Keane and Staunton off to avoid injury.

Bring on Reid, Quinny and Clinton Morrison.

hopefully these fresh lads would finish the job
to give Ireland a 9-0 win

I think we must top the group and avoid Spain. I watchjed the Spainsh team today and they looked very very good.

I think Duff should start on the left, instead of Kilbane, and stick Quinn up front with Keane. Should that not work, stick Clinton on and give him a chance. Id like to see Reid start as well, great prospect.

But its Mick's team, and he'll probably start with his regular formation.

    Quinn Keane

    Duff Holland McAteer Reid

    Staunton Breen O'Brien Finnan

    Given

Come on the 9-0, or we could beat the biggest score ever-10-1! Personally I'd be satisfied with scoring more than 1 goal in a finals match for the first time ever. Now that could be McCarthy's greatest legacy.

Thats a decent formation. HoweverI don't think FIFA would let us put both Quinn and Keane in goals! Also Given isn't a proven goalscorer at this level. :)
