NT4 doesn't support usb, as i just found out! nor do microsoft have any intention of supplying an ugrade which will.

Soooo does anyone know of any other software which will allow one to use a usb device with NT?

NT4 is dead. MS officially said there would be no more fixpacks some time ago.

If your USB device can be connected to the printer/com port get a converter for the USB connection and try it.

Good luck trying to find a webcam that works on NT too. smile.gif

NT4 doesn't have USB support, but there are third-party drivers for it.

I don't know how much it is, but I'm just saying there *is* USB support for NT4, just not for free.

A little googlage turns up this:

    http://www.bsquare.com/products/devtools/usbwin40/

    USB support for NT4, $79.00

One more thing. Just because you can get USB support doesn't it's going to work on NT.

I had a similar issue with webcams I ordered. They wouldn't work on NT so I tried the USB support software which didn't work and I tried a converter and that also didn't work. I had to find an obscure webcam that directly supported the printer port.

So make sure the SW works with your device before you fork over the cash.

Graphic based devices tend to cause more problems with USB's then say a mouse or keyboard would.

USB support out of the box.
