France in trouble

just finished watching the France Uruguay match and france have a lot to do to make it through the 2nd round,

they looked poor up front, Henry was sent off (and rightly so) early on, then Trezeguet was man marked by at least 2 defenders for the rest of the game, then Cisse came on late and wasted a few chances that could have resulted in good goalscoring chances,

Uruguay were lucky to finish with 11 men but France still looked quite poor.

France need to win well against the Danes, and with Zidane probably coming back for the game it could happen but can they get back some good form and go far in the WC?

If they beat Denmark by two goals that'll be enough wont it.

If France finish 2nd in the group, it will probably lead to a France Vs Argentinia clash in the next round. Thats a real pity as that match would make a great final. Jammy England could end up playing Senegal.

France Argentina would never have been the final anyway, they would have met in the semis.

darth: If France manage to beat Denmark at all, then yes, 2 should be enough.. not sure they'll manage that after their recent performances though.

i think they'll manage it. They have to play well but i thought they were great second half today considering they were down to 10 men from a very early stage...

I've seen both of Frances matches and I can safely say that they don't deserve to get out of the group despite all their "good attacking play".

Today against what could only be described as a cynical Uruguay they had something like 60% of the ball (despite being a man down) and didn't have a clue what to do with it.

Uruguay were playing with them to be honest. The south americans just sat back and frustrated France, breaking when they could and if anything Uruguay had the closest chances to score.

Ireland have proven we can get the job done without our key player, so why can't France?

Both teams which have played France have not given the forwards a blade of grass to move, they French team radically needs to be revamped as their style of play has obviously been well sussed out........

Tell you this is somthing I thought wouldn't happen to France.

France are Denmarks for the taking. Les Blues only hope is that Denmark who will play a very attacking game, might just leave enough room at the back for the off-side trap to be sprung.

    Mad Prediction-

France out, England to top group, England to play Denmark, eh?!

Don't rule France out, historically teams who have done poorly in the first round while their fans have expected more have gone on to do very well in the rest of the cup. Italy would be a good example of this.
