    Voted Superman.

Off topic, but Batman has to be one of the worst superheroes ever. I mean, he doesn't even have any super powers - he's just a rich bully who can afford lots of weapons. Sheesh. And why "Batman"?

    You ever read batman?

It's not like the camp 70's show and it's still not even like the hit cartoon (though closer to that)

Remember Batman the first film? Well they tried to capture the dark side, which is what he really is.

Think about it - troubled child fantasises on bats and murdering his parent's killer.

Even the way he acts is more like a split personality. They guys just not right in the head.

Batman's more a fine line between SuperHero and SuperVillain

I'm with ice on this, Batman rules!
Tim Burton really captured the feel of the Dark Knight.

Voted for batman but i tend to go for the vertigo line from DC. Favs are Sandman and the brilliant Hellblazer.
By the way... the current halblazer story is flippin brilliant. And he is hardly even in it!! Dark and twisted. the way i likes them.

Voted batman too. Who's writing hellblazer lately? I have a few early collected editions from when Garth Ennis was writing it and they're excellent.

MY GOD YOU DON'T HAVE JESSE CUSTER, MORPHEUS, JOHN CONSTANTINE (gotta love him), OR.... SPIDER JERUSALEM! I MEANE FOR GODSAKE! HOW CAN YOU NOT MENTION HIM?!

And where are the villains? Joker? Hmmm? Immortal guy (i know his name i just can't spell it)? And no Oracle or Huntress even?! OR EVEN LEX?!

AND SPELL CHARACTER PROPERLY NEXT TIME!

    <heheheh... man i'm mean>

i'm only kidding with the shouting btw. Just having a bit of fun. But seriously, stick constantine and spider in.

Allright folks, who's taking the piss by voting Azrael. Jesus christ he made a fair lot of people stop reading the Batman comics when he took the mantle of the Bat, however i thought his suit was cool :)

Has to be the bat (the original) from this list anyway.

Bull**** poll imho so not voting due to the gheyness of some of the character's listed in it over the real star's of the DC comic's universe.

John Constantine from Hellblazer has gotta be the best.He drinks like a fish, smoke's like a trooper and give's the devil the finger everytime he see's him :)

    Batman does kick ass tho.

Swampthing seems to be missing as well.

Lobo the fragiest bastich this side of sundown really should be in the running as well.

Sandman was a great comic but towards the end it got pretty ****ed up in the story department.

I support D-Gen on the Azrael being crap statement.Sales of Batman dropped bigtime when he took over as Batman as the storyline suffered sooooo much.Cool costume tho but I feel its a case of all look's and no substance.Hell if your gonna pick a comic on the look's of an outfit at least do it right and pick a marvel title or someone from Todd McFarlaine's comic's :P

I voted Azrael because Sword of azrael is one of my favourite books and i didnt think the knightfall storyline was that bad i actually kinda liked it, signs of weakness from Bruce wayne??!!?!

Sometimes Lobo, Superboy or Captain Marvel Shazam! but this time Batman

    Batman
He built himself up to what he is, and you gotta love the internal conflict.

Superman is just an uber camp mushroom.
Pure chance that he has those powers.

Has anyone been following the "Bruce Wayne Murderer?" story-line. Azrael has once again taken the mantle of the Bat.

John Constantine , Jessie Custer ... are all DarkHorse publications not really DC.

DC's more traditional stuff comes from it's classic heroes Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow...

I say Superman is the best character

I have to say I think Batman has the best and darkest story lines around.. Anyone read the JLA series where "The Demon" used the information Batman had compiled on how to kill all of his fellow team-mates?

    Great stuff...

Gambler that sounds like "The Tower of Babel" TPB. Is that the one you are talking about.

Super story. Also Batmans appearances in the recent Green Arrow series were fabulous.

Haven't read that but it sounds pretty cool. Do you know what issues they were so I can see about getting a copy?

But that's Batman for ya anyway - always has a contingency plan

    WONDER WOMAN

and thank the gods for witchblade and Lady Death

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,126 ✭✭✭][cEMAN**

So are you just pro femanist or do you have reasons for liking them?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 43,045 ✭✭✭✭Nevyn

:) wonder woman and miss piggy were my role models growing up ;)

There is so much scope in the witchblade with all the previous wears and thier experiences , the time line in Lady death is also huge but heres hoping that the end of chaos comics is not the end of Lady Death .

The x men are ok , but after these ladies the Bat wins hands down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,126 ✭✭✭][cEMAN**

    :) kewl.

I think the idea (without knowing too much about the actual series for lack of being brave enough to lift a copy) of witchblade is more like a cross between Spawn and robocop (also considering the female character from said film)

Lady Death i've read.....prefer evil ernie tbh and Smiley >:) hehehe

But my m8 is an avid fan of LD....he's got nearly every limited edition of the comics.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 43,045 ✭✭✭✭Nevyn

Spawn and robocop No nono not at all

The fun of it is watching her trying to resolve the two worlds she now lives in and relaising that she saw the 2nd one all a long .
Plus you have the references to who other wielders had to cope with the double edged gift that is the witchblade.

And Ian nottinghams not badly drawn either ;)

As fot The Lady i'm hoping that despite chaos comics demise that she will live on and that work on the LD film will finish soon

Yeah it was the past history of the witchblade that I refered to in the spawn sense. A curse/gift handed down through the generations to a different person each time.

Read "The Curse of Spawn" to get a past history of his timeline past and future.

Also spawn lives in 2 worlds - earth and the paranormal. Heaven and Hell to him are like a second world. That was until the earth made him its champion to battle BOTH heaven AND hell :)
