Can I use an On Digital/ITV Digital set top with NTL, to get NTL's Digital services?

Or do I specifically need the set top box that NTL provides?

OR do I need to pay a subscription in order to get the digital signal?

    Hi there.
No, they are two completely incompatable set-top boxes.

Or do I specifically need the set top box that NTL provides?

    Yep. 'fraid so.

No, you will need to a get a set-top box through them. Not a necessity using Sky, but this does not happen with Digital Cable.

    Thanx

What I meant by that last question is: If I manage to get my hands on a compatable STB (NTL or otherwise), is that all I need or do I also need to subscribe?

Are there any STBs that are compatable with the one that NTL provides?

Mossy, if you can give me the spefs of the ntl box I will let you know. If you have an ITV D box you will be able to get the 14 free to air channels if depending where you live.

I dont think this is allowed. I'm pretty sure NTL own the boxes, if the contract is over, I'm sure they take the box back. I could be wrong, others here will say that.

As for Sky Digital, the box becomes your property after a year. So if you bought it from someone else, you can get Sky to send you out a contract and a card for your box.

Each digital TV method way of handing out STB's are different. No STB is interchangable with each platform, because each has different types of reciever inside.
