Secretive meeting of World leaders begins in Dublin

A secretive gathering of current and former world leaders gets under way in Dublin today.

It is understood the guests include former US president Mr Bill Clinton and his Russian counterpart Mr Mikhail Gorbachev, though details of the meeting is shrouded in secrecy.

It is thought that there will be 50 delegates at the 41st annual Salute to Excellence and International Achievement Summit, organised by the Washington-based Academy of Achievement.

The group was set up to introduce young international scholars to inspirational leaders, artists and businessmen.

Ballsbridge has been awash with noisy sirens and police escorts last night and today.

I was about Damn street and parliment street last night.
Damn street form Georges street to Christ Church and all the way down to Zaytoon on Parliment street were shut to the public. WHY???

I supporty the precautions 100%. With the threat of a dirty bomb in Washington, these security measures need to be taken. As far as I'm concerned, the "loony left" (and that includes IndyMedia, SWP and every student/crusty bandwagon-jumper running after them) can take a hike.

Open your eyes (also, possibly need to expand your range of thought !).

The "loony left" (as you call them) are the only people around who aren't guided by their own selfish self-interests and who actually care about the state of the world & it's people.
