Poor T.V. Reception in Certain areas of Midleton Town

At the April meeting of Midleton Town Council, Cllr Noel Collins raised the problem of poor T.V. reception in St Mary's Road and other areas of the town, and moved that council pursue the matter with Etain Doyle, Director of Telecommunications Regulation, Abbey Court, Irish Life Centre, Lr. Abbey Street, Dublin 1

    REPLY
Ms Doyle replied to Joe McCarthy, Town Clerk, as follows: 'I acknowledge receipt of your letter of 8th April 2002 regarding TV reception in St Mary's Road and other areas of the town. Your letter is being examined at present, and the office will contact you shortly".
At the May meeting of the Town Council, the Town Clerk requested further information for Telecommunications from the residents concerned.

    SOURCE OF PROBLEM?
After some discussion on the matter, the Town Clerk, said he would write to the residents of St. Mary's Road for the information requested and have them provide detail of the times and dates of poor TV reception and if the problem is ongoing.
Cllr Collins thanked Telecommunications and the Town Clerk for their help in the matter.

(Viewers in that town receive from either Mullaghanish or Spur Hill transmitters for the national stations, and one wonders might at least SOME of the problems have been due to Spur Hill being intermittently on low power in recent months around the time of the commissioning of the new mast there. (I certainly know of areas where anytime Spur Hill is on low power co-channel interference becomes very noticeable)
