Just thought you'd find it interesting to know that I used GPRS with no problems on the vodafone uk network while I was waiting on a flight. Left the settings as they were and it connected first try. Don't know if I was charged; those days haven't come up on the vodafone website yet....

Seems the IRL Vodafone billing system is applying no charge to any traffic through the wap.vodafone.ie access point at the moment (i suppose until the announce the pricing plans and switch on charging), so you shouldn't have any charges (some friends visiting the UK used it and 0.00 was on their bills afterwards).

Hopefully the online call listing on My Vodafone will be modified to take GPRS into account. It's displaying GPRS Sessions by Duration rather than by Volume (as appears on the bills). First time I read the page summary after using WAP GPRS I had a few thousand unbilled call minutes which gave me a fright, until I worked out what was going on!!

Wonder if paddypower.com would open a book on Vodafone launching full Consumer GPRS :)

    it's isp.vodafone.ie

but they aren't launching the consumer gprs web access in ireland until July (last update)

if you've a corporate account you can get your account manager to set-up access, then their gprs data support team wil provide you with apn, dns and what account settings to use
