    i don't think ya can make jpegs transparent. Only gifs. Save the file as a gif file and click options then optimiser and then transparency, and then areas that match this colour, just drag your mouse across to your pic to the area of the colour you want to be transparent, set your tolerance, have a look at the preview window and thats it. I would also recomend ya use a background colour for the transparency thats not like the rest of the image so it doesn't cos transparencies with in the pic itsself. Usually bright green, or bright pink do the job for me.

    Anyway have a look below. Should work fine with a darker background but ya might wanna tidy up the edjes if your using it with a lighter one.
