    Without a doubt, O2.

+web based. Can check it from anywhere round the world

+POP3 also, you can use an email client like outlook express.

+Get notifications to your O2 mobile when you get an email. You'll know straight away if the company sends you info.

    +20MB account!

    +fast server

Best email address I've ever had. No problems!

Although if your with skodaphone I'd check out the www.e-merge.ie site.

O2 is confusing. Is it Zero or O? Well I find Online.ie pretty good.

    It has pop 3 access.

    www.online.ie

    Must agree with Cork.

Stay away from the "o2.ie" addy. Anyway alot people don't know the symbol for oxygen.

Well this is what you do.
Get an o2.ie addy. Then use "@dol.ie" its the exact same server as "o2.ie"... I'm sticking to my "@dol.ie" addy as the "o" Vs "0" problem is a headache to explain to someone who copies your address off paper

    Yes. o2.ie is the best

Was with them from the ole digifone days :D

Who can go wrong with 500free text messages

Cant get the smtp.o2.ie working though so i cant send any emails from Outlook XP  anyone halp?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,226 ✭✭✭stereo_steve

Yeah the o in o2 is confusing.

I had problems with the smtp.02.ie aswell. I think it might be because i'm not dialing up with them as my isp?

Anyway just uyse these as your settings it'll solve everything. Its what I do:

    Incoming pop3.dol.ie

    Outgoing mail.iol.ie

Its the letter O, because it stands for 2 oxygen atoms :D, can't be one oxygen atom because it hasn't a complete outer shell 8 electons :D so its o2 :D like h2o, hytrogen+oxygen.

    Sorry for getting technical :)

    - POP3 & IMAP

    - Dead simple use/setup

    - Virus scanner has yet to let any virus through to me

    - Just the dam best webmail/normal mail account I've ever used!

    - Oh and they don't ask whats your job/how much you get paid etc etc etc etc

You want to be technical Donal?

Oxygen is the third most abundant element found in the sun, and it plays a part in the carbon-nitrogen cycle, one process responsible for stellar energy production. Oxygen in excited states is responsible for the bright red and yellow-green colours of the aurora. About two thirds of the human body, and nine tenths of water, is oxygen. The gas is colourless, odourless, and tasteless. Liquid and solid oxygen are pale blue (see picture above) and strongly paramagnetic (contains unpaired electrons).

    O.jpg

Now we can see from the picture above Donal that Oxygen is "not happy :(" It requires another one to form a pure covalent bond with. It is now "happy :)"
