    ummmm....i would assume (maybe i'm wrong) that quite a lot of people around here won't be eligible to vote in the senate elections anyway, as you have to be a member of one of the panels from various sectors of society, such as agriculture, or commerce. even the university vote is taken from a very small pool of voters- made up of trinity and NUI graduates only, so the vast majority of the country don't get a vote.

    and anyway, votes are generally for specific candidates, not along party lines.

    i may be wrong, but your pole (sic) won't apply to most people!
