Ive a sony mzr-500 i think it is.
    Great little thing.
Does 4x compression adn double bass.
Doesnt have an inline remote though.
I give it a fair bashing and it still works.
It got a whole glass of lucozade spilt on it and the glass broke on it and it still works but the buttons are sticky.
I got it for IR£189 in june last.
    Theres a new version out.
Argos got it but their too dear.

Go for Sony, don't even bother looking at other brands. The MZ-N1 that micro bought is teh best MD player ever, its small has every feature and the oh so important USB transfer, unfortunatly it costs around 400 Euro. If you have lots of mp3s that you are gonna want to put on MD I'd really advise you get one of these Net MD models (they basically have a USB connection for speedy and easy transfer from a PC using software that comes with the MD) there are two cheaper Net MD models than the the N1 the MZ-R505 and 707 these are around 230 Euro and 300 Euro i think. The 505 is a basic model, the 707 is the same size but has a fancier remote.

I bought a 707 a while back and i'm well chuffed with it.

Don't the 500 and 505 differ in that the latter is a NET MD whereas the other isn't?
