I went into the US on May 17th..filling out the white(customs) form and the green waiver form on the plane..as i was going for 10 days. I got in fine...but when i left yesterday i didnt see in the immigrations at my departure gate to show them the little green departure record thats clipped onto my passport. It says on one side that if its not presented, it may cause problems getting into the US in the future. Anyone know if i'll be ok? i tried calling the US Embassy in Ireland, but they're open early in the morning i think.

    thanks

    Ruu

Don't worry bout it too much.. happens all the time. They'll pull it next time you go to the US and prob query why it wasn't pulled (just play dumb.. they *might* try to freak you out about it but they know it happens quite frequently).

No harm in calling the Embassy though so don't panic about it :)

    i would disagree!

Because the green card was not collected, the us govt still thinks you are in the country. Next time you try to enter you will flash up as an overstayer and be banned for up to 10 years. It is a very big deal. Contact the embassy without delay.

It is the airlines job to remove the card and foreward it with the flight details to the immigration people. I hope you still have your ticket and boarding card as proof you left the united states.

From the voice of experience :(

Ok...well the airline is meant to remove the I-94 (green stubs) from my passport..but it happens sometimes that they dont..so im responsible for it. Sending a copy of my departure record, my passport and my ticket stubs to the US Embassy in Dublin..and to North Dakota to be sure cos it says that on a few websites to do so..theres no reason why it should cause trouble is there? :D

If you had been visiting any sane country they'd have no queries but in the U.S. they'll probably accuse you of being in the 'ra. Just kidding there should be no probs m8.
