This is on soccercentral now...is this all just an RTE scam to up ratings 4 2nite? Whats the craic? Its on just before all their monday nite gud stuff comes on!?

Apparantly Dunphy had Keane on 2day and he was unrepentant.
Tis all too much for my emotionally fragile head.

"A last minute deal to broker a peace deal between Roy Keane and Mick McCarthy for his captain's return to the sqaud in Japan is reported to be close ahead of Roy Keane's appearance on RTE Irish State Television later this evening in an extended interview.

It is understood that top level discussions took place between Keane's agent Michael Kennedy and FAI Officials in Japan, Brendan Menton, Milo Corcoran and Des Casey to come to an arrangement that would not undermine any party.

The only stumbling block is that Irish manager Mick McCarthy MUST give his approval to the deal to allow his errant captain return to the fold.

There is speculation in Japan that Keane has already been booked on a flight to Tokyo to arrive before Friday to link up with his Ireland team-mates ahead of their opening game against Cameroon.
