dial in problems/router

    ok, i have a cisco 2500 router.i have a modem.
    when i dial the modem, it just rings.
    how do i get the modem to accept the call and route through to the router?

    It looks like the modem is not set to answer ncoming calls. The S0 register is the one that controls this function. Basically you can check this (on a few modems) by entering the command ATS0 in a terminal window. I think it should be set to 1 for the modem to answer calls. The command should be ATS0=1 to set it. I'm not sure of the command to write to memory so that it will be stored through power down (it varies over the modem type) but it should be &W or &Wn where n is the stored profile number.
