    I know Taekwondo.
Which style, like Kung-Fu and Karate there are many different styles of TaeKwondo, some focus on Traditional and agressive techniques, others focus on fitness and high kicks, some on the olympic sports....

Hmmm, did it for a while but hurt ma back in a competition, and when i went to college there was no club for my style (ITF) at the college andonly a WTF club.

My younger brother is a 1st Dan Black Belt tho in ITF, in the IUTF to be precise about it.

The original form of Tae Kwon Do is the ITF (Internation Tae Kwon Do Federation) form of the art also know as Chang Hun Tae Kwon Do, an art I enjoyed participating in on a regular basis and while it may not be for everyone I would encourage everyone who may have an inclination towards it to try it out.

Tae Kwon Do comes from a conglomeration of Karate and Tae Kyon and was developed by the South Korean military ostensibly to it's current state under the direction of General Choi Hong Hi a two star General from North Korean, although in theory Tae Kwon Do is also the scientific use of the body for defence, so you might define it quite loosely indeed.

If you are looking for a place to try out Tae Kwon Do then there is a place on Exechquer street run by Master Brendan O'Toole and Mr Gerry Martin and is more than likely the best place in the country for Tae Kwon Do.

WTF Tae Kwon Do is the olympic form, that uses Hogu or body armour and is full contact, but does not allow contact with the cranial region as far as I am aware.

It allows kicks but not punches to the head, which to my mind is a little silly. I mean 2 guys standing a foot away from each other trying to kick one another isn't very realistic.
