Interesting article. It makes a good point regarding the Empire that they were trying to create, and the rebels who tried to stop it (Solo, Leia and Luke).

With no Star Wars board around I have to post it here

Nasty nasty rebels. Especially when the Empire is taking care of its citizens, like the Day-Care Centre on the Death Star.:)

I like the different perspective, however I'm not sure Lucas would agree with the conclusion

At the end of the day, it's only a film (or series of films).. and apart from the popcorn entertainment and technologies used, I'm not going to get too caught up in the 'greater story', since no matter what is written or presented, people will interperet it to suit their own perspectives.

Fun article that does not take itself too seriously - I hope.
Still, it's good to get the other sides perspective for to be fair they (the Empire) has a better theme tune, nicer ships and cooler uniforms.
Can't remember off-hand but I believe there is an mpeg parody of the TV-show "Cops" called "Troops" which takes a similar slant.
