LILO on floppy to chain to /dev/hda5

I am currently dual booting with Win98 and Linux. Win98 uses 30GB and Linux uses the last 10GB. I currently boot from floppy. I would like to know if it would be possible to boot as little as possible from floppy and just jump to hda5(where there is a fully configured LILO) so as to avoid the long time it takes for linux to read the kernel off the floppy.

I don't want to mess around with my windows partition(hda1) or the master boot partition(hda). Obviously hda5 is a logical drive. It comes from hda2.

I could find no howto detailing how to do this and the LILO readme didn't help. Should I compile an ultra-lite kernel on the floppy that will jump automatically to had5?

Out of curiosity, why don't you want to install LILO to the mbr? It'd be a fair bit handier.
You may be able to install LILO to a floppy disk and get that to boot hda5, I'm not sure.
[edit] What I mean is get LILO to boot the kernel on hda5 rather than the kernel on the floppy, in case my previous post looked stupid [/edit]
