Well was that not one of the best goals or what?
He remains my fav player in the world. That goal just cements his place.

Sorry for Leverkusen though. Good onslaught at the end.

An absolute stunner. If there was ever a goal that deserves to win the European Cup, that's the one. Goal of the decade.

Great goal by a great player, Im really looking forward to seeing him in the world cup.
Double thrill for me as by winning the comp Real now dont have to go into the qualifying round so Celtic have a better chance of being seeded

great goal and all that but am i the only one who thinks he didn't hit the ball properly. what i mean is he could of had a better connection. imagine what kind of goal that would have been

Yeh, me too . . he kind of caught it on his shin . . . if he'd connected properly he'd probably have put it in the top of the stand . .

    :p:p:p
Zidane or Keane or Beckham or Rivaldo...hmmm

If I had to choose one to play on my world cup team . ..I think I'd still choose Keane.

By the way . . what about the world player of the year . . .Figo was rubbish last night . .

If anyone had sense last night they'd realise that Real Madrid are not to be feared and were extremely lucky. A fantastic goal but leverkusen were more deserving of the match and were very unlucky. figo was so bad he was taken off. Raul bar getting on the end of a very quick taken long throw was non effective and Zidane didnt exactly generalise midfield last night though either did Ballack.

yeah figo was really crap last night!! he is one of the most over-rated players around!! he only plays when he wants to!!

Keano or Henry are still no.1!! both for their consistancy!! cant wait for the world cup! should be class!!!

    Come on the France!!!!

In fairness, I have criticised Figo a lot lately, last night I thought he put the effort in, and still played crap. He took a disgraceful freekick at one stage, but at other times, I was left with my mouth open as he actually put in tackles, and to me at least, looked reasonably hungry. However, I agree that he is overrated, and even last night floated in and out of the game.

Zizou's goal was from the top drawer, up there with van Basten v the USSR, and Glen Crowe against Pats last year. I disagree that he didnt make perfect contact. Having watched it a few times just now, it seemed struck as close as perfectly as you're likely to see. In fact, if his muscles had contracted to the angle he spun in, I think the keeper might have had it. He obviously knew where to put it, and although it wasn't right in the corner, the keeper had no chance. The best goal I have personally seen this season, fit to win any match.

That was some goal! probably one of the best one i have ever seen. As TwoShedsJackson said
If there was ever a goal that deserves to win the European Cup, that's the one.
I think i would agree with that one. Also the Real keeper played a stormer! he cleared 2 shots off the line! I think they definetly deserved to win it!

When you say the Real keeper played a stormer, I assume you mean Casillas, who has barely played 10 minutes all season.
With around 20 minutes to go, Cèsar, who has been excellent this season, was injured, and 22 year old Casillas came on two earn his second CL winners medal. He made 3 world class saves, and justified Camacho picking him in the Spainsh WC squad, even though he's barely played all season.

The Leverkusen keeper gave it the large portion in the closing stages, going up for the corners, and then staying up in the Madrid box. Class. And Ferguson and Wenger in the crowd. Who do people think they had their eyes on? Ferguson's on the prowl for defenders anyway, that much is clear.
