After consulting with google and kali, I have arrived at the following conclusion. ( this may be wrong, it took me 5 minutes to get here. )

I wish to convert from scart to svideo.
There are two types of scart, RCA and RGB(s-video).
The converter i have is RCA, no good. I want RGB. Where can i get it ?

I have not walked into a shop or even looked at peats website yet. Off i go there now.

    Gav

You should be able to get a specific scart to s-video lead in most hifi shops. Im pretty sure i've seen them round, vary in prices depending in quality as always.

    Bucon.

SCART is just a cable with about 20 plugs in it - you can pass all sorts of signals over it, including S-Video, composite and RGB, so it depends what type of signals are being outputted by the device's SCART socket, for example:
A VCR will usually only output composite (RCA) on a SCART lead. You would then need a separate, powered converter to get from RCA to S-Video, like the ones sold
    at Lecktropacks

A DVD player will usually output both composite and SVideo simultaneously. All you need is a SCART -> S-Video cable like these
