I recently bought a secondhand Sky Digital system with an FTA card which had
been switched off for about a year as the previous owner died, then i left it
on to receive all the free channels as the card was de-activated,i also had
to force a software upgrade! My problem is, that after two weeks all the
channels are on(they came on after a day)except for BBC1.I rang the Free To
View registration phoneline and over the course of about ten days they sent
a signal three times and still BBC1 won't come up on the EPG,i can't even
tune it in on the 'Add Channels' mode. The digibox has been left on all the
    time of course.
I realise BBC1 is usually the last channel to come on,but does it take
almost two weeks.I would appreciate any help on what to do!Thanks in
    advance!

You need to do a new channel scan.
Go to system setup and press select.
    press 0
    press 1
    press select.
Should no take you into a hidden menu called Installation set-up.
    Select new installation.
(make sure your card is inserted.)
    and select astra installation.
This will make the receiver scan for all channels being broadcast.
Tell us how you get on.

Hi,yes i did that and still the same result although it was'nt connected to a phoneline,i'm not sure how to insert the correct cose as it only gives the option '0044' so then it will dial 0044 08702438000 which is not correct as the 0 in 08702 should be deleted!
Maybe if i got around that problem then i may have more luck.Anyway i ordered a new card through my relatives UK address,so that might clear it up when it arrives!
