Problems with Digibox

    This weekend my digibox - Pace model, started playing up.
    It started by turning itself off and wouldn't turn back on until I unplugged and left for a few minutes. Then it worked fine until it started to Freeze as I changed channels the remote would have no impact so I had to unplug and start again. It continued to do this at regular intervals. I tried changing the scart at the back but same results!:(

    I am going to call Sky but thought I'd ask here in case anyone has any ideas first. The other question on this is that I don't have a phone line attached to my box and was wondering if it would help to have this attached when calling Sky?

    This is a common fault with Pace, if you are within warranty ask for a replacement box.

    Sometimes something like that happens to my Grundig box.. might lock on a screen and i cant turn it off with thr remote.. after a min it will go off by itself.. not standby but right off.. no lights.. come back.. go off and back again ending up in standby... fine again after that... its VERY rare and does not bother me.. is it something like that your talking about?

    It happened about 10 times over the weekend - the worst part is it takes a few minutes to come back online and starts with channell 998 and only after unplugging from the mains.

    It was bought January 2001 - so it is probably out of warranty.

    Oh well - I better give them a buzz and a hard time too.

    Is it possible that Sky have a deliberate mechanism for
    causing the box to have problems once the year is up?.
    Maybe they send a corruptor signal down the line if
    a subscriber discontinues the subscription after the year is up.
    And maybe not.

    I didn't discontue the subscription though!!!:D

    They probably just wanted to stop me watching Men and Motors too much!!!

    I know somebody who had the exact same problenms as you mere weeks after installation. it seems to be a common fault with the PACE box... Grr
    BTW... I need to sort out an FTV solution... anybody willing?
