    In the 'Messages' -> 'Message Settings' -> 'Eircell SMSC' menu on the Nokia 3330, there is an option 'Messages sent as', and you can pick 'text', 'paging','fax' and 'e-mail'.
    I'd like to know how sending messages as e-mail works, can anyone help?
    When I set 'Message sent as' to e-mail, and try to send a message I am asked to give an e-mail address, and then a phone number. I can't understand what this is about at all!

    The irish networks dont support sending e-mail that way BUT e-merge from vodafone allows you to send e-mail by text here how
    1. Press the menu button on your phone;
    2. Go to messages;
    3. Go to create/write messages;
    4. Type in the word mail leave a space and then type in the full e-mail address of the person to whom you wish to mail. If you are mailing another e-merge user, you may omit the @e-merge.ie part of the e-mail address as this will be automatically assumed;
    5. Leave another space and then type in your short e-mail message;

    Example: If you want to send an e-mail from your mobile phone to Joe Bloggs (whose e-mail address is joebloggs@funkymail.ie) your message should be in the following format:

    mail joebloggs@funkymail.ie Hi Joe, How's it going? Just trying out one more of the great services from e-merge!
    6. Press SEND/OK;
    7. Key in 1745;
    8. Press SEND/OK.

    After a few seconds, you will receive a text message notifying you that your e-mail has been sent successfully. When joebloggs@funkymail.ie receives the e-mail that you sent him, your address will appear as follows:

    0871234567@e-merge.ie - where the number before the @ symbol is your 087 mobile phone number.

    When Joe Bloggs replies to your e-mail his response will automatically be sent to your e-merge inbox. Once a mail is sent to your e-merge inbox, you can be notified of its arrival by setting up New Mail Alert and you can then listen to the e-mail via etrieve.

    When you send an email to someones e-merge email account it sends an SMS to your phone letting you know etc... could you imagine how annoying it would be to have that enabled and someone spams your email address? Which would in turn spam your phone lol
