Its all over the curtain is down until mid August (can we wait that long?! :D ), was it a season you can look back on with pleasure
or did your favourites let the side down?

For my lot Liverpool, it was trophyless yet the team has plainly progressed with 11 points more won and runners-up. That while the boss was nearly dropping dead and "ol big nose" was taking charge. It could have been so much worse...

    Mike.

The premiership may be over but we still have the world cup.
I support Liverpool too, so what you said.

Dispite the fact that Liverpool won nothing this season it is clear that this was an improvement on last seasons Treble glory.

Reaching the quarter finals of the Champions League the first attempt was commendable (did United manage that first time?) and the fact that we've qualified automatically for next seasons competion means we have a opportunity to do even better and prove we are more than just one season wonders like Chelsea and Leeds were in the last few seasons.

However, our league form is what pleased me the most. Had we not had that lean run over Christmas we would be champions now but , fair is fair, Arsenal deserve the title. Liverpools final positions over the past three years are 4th, 3rd and now 2nd. So who would bet against us ending 13 years of wait next May?

One final thing to note is that we finished on 80 points which is actually 1 more than the last time we won the title in 1990. So we can have no complaints for the sides performance this season. It's just unfortunate that the year we finally got it together was the year Arsenal managed to assemble one of the best squads seen in many years.

Roll on the World Cup , and roll on season 2002-03!

This season has been the best in recent years for football. OK, so the league is still split up into the haves and have nots, but up untill quite recently there were FIVE teams still in the running. You cant argue with that sort of competition. Realistically (and i might be biased) Arsenal were always the best team in there :)

a great season for me. Arsenal got the double, unbeaten away, score in every game and the Golden Boot. it was very close at the end which i like. it will only be a month or so without any soccer so it wont be too bad this summer :)
