the very first metal/rock album you ever got your hands on (either through buying it or been given it (bootleg/pressie)

Slayer - South of Heaven was my first.

(although I found out years later that my parents had chucked all their Sabbath vinyls out......arrrrgggggghhhh)

If it counts, my first ever record was Queen - Greatest Hits

But I guess the first real metal album I got was Guns N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction, and it's probably still my favourite!

    Jesus! Forgot all about Queen!
Used to be a huge fan when I was a kid.

    I'm changing my vote then:

Queen - Live In Wembley '86

    Ride The Lightening - Metallica

was the first rock album I bought that was in no way influenced by my parents, I was I think 11 or 12 in the earliest stages of metalhead wannabe I was such a sheep at least I was lead in a good direction, tis a great album still.

Can't remember, it was one of these anyway...
    Pantera - Cowboys From Hell
    G'n'R - Appetite for Destruction
Slayer - Seasons in the Abyss
Metallica - ...And Justice for All
    Megadeth - Rust in Peace.

You can probably guess the year...
