It all depends on who's point of view you look at.

The mom says that she was gone for hours (from 12.30 or summat). I've been to plenty of parties that have gotten out of hand, even while the parents are in bed/watching tv. She also claims that she had her own smokes and beer. A 17-year-old going out and buying beer for himself?! Will wonders never cease?! The girl might have been 14, but she was also a friend of the birthday boy, and they were all drunk. They weren't going to stop her, and chances are she was one of those old looking 14 year old (not that it makes it OK).

It might seem like one of the other kids's parents going over the top and overreacting, blah, blah, until you hear at the end. 'These kids are my friends'. Oh dear, you're 43, they're 13-17. There's a world of difference in the fun that 43 year olds have and 15 year olds have. She's a twat.
