How To Temporarily Disable Your Sky Remote

So you are watching the football on Sky and you know that when the wife or kids come into the room they will change channel. Try this - It won't stop them using up/dn on the box itself or going to a terrestial channel but it will help ......

1) Press TV

2) Press select and blue simultaneously until you get two led flashes

3) Press 2

4) Press Select

This will disable your sky remote. It will appear to be working as it's led will light when keys are pressed. To restore the remote to normal just repeat the above but press 1 at step three.

i didn't know you could do that. people in the house know they are not to change the channels when i'm watching something

Of course, you could try my scheme, which is easier, and involves fewer key presses.

Just sit on the remote!

I wonder what other functions the RC can do that we don't know about. The other good one is the ability to make TV change to channel no when Sky button is pressed. Handy when not connected via Scart.

open back of rc and take out the batteries//
easier to remember than child and wife lock

To make your TV change to channel "x" when you press the SKY or the TV GUIDE button do the following . . . . .

1) Press TV

2) Press select and Green simultaneously until you get two led flashes

3) Press "x" (Usually channel 0 on your TV)

4) Press Select
