Isn't this a fantastic time to be a woman. Cheap car insurance (men are discriminated against), maternity leave (only in some countries do men get paternity leave), divorce (women usually get the better end of the stick) and the Jackass incident.

Jackass would like to see pictures of Madge from the boards.ie night because he hears that she is good looking. At the expense of sounding unpopular I don't see anything wrong with that. Of course the guy gets nothing but cliched feminist retorts. Would this happen if I posted up asking for pictures of Mills because I hear that he is good looking? I doubt that

    Doesn't really bother me.
There *ARE* differences between men and women.
Straight out equality just doesn't work.

So, if I see the "Feminist" response from Majd, I think that's perfecly fair.

I'm sure Mills would welcome such things.
I know if some girl was looking for my pic because she heard I was hot, I'd be quite chuffed.
But girls mightn't be as happy with it.
And that's perfectly fine for them not to be happy.

Men are discrimiated against in car insurance, because statistically Men cause more accidents.
But it's just the same as being aged 18-25.

So if you don't like it, get a sex change, and GROW UP! :D

The only thing I don't like is that "Girl Power" junk.
Stupid commericial working of the Spice Girls saying that it's alright to be a bitch.

I neve said it was unfair, and Madge's response, although it fits into the category of what women do/say when they have the sexual highground (example, a guy pays a girl a compliment or tries a chat up line, it is suddenly socially acceptable for her to pour drink over his head or slap him in the face... or in Madge's case, overreact, which isn't as big a deal) was not the only feminist response. You've a horde of guys mouthing the same naff, probably cus they see boards.ie as a place to display their machismo in front of the ladies by "standing up for them".

I suppose blacks should be discriminated against because statistically they cause more crime?

Don't have to, you may have heard of the recent Equal Rights Act which prevents such discrimination. It is against the law for an insurance company to discriminate against you based on sex or age (amongst other things). You'll find that it is becoming more common for them to ask about how many years experience and what no claims bonuses you previously had.

In fairness, that's what Madge did to Jackass, and most people were saying that it's alright

I think a guy in UCC tried to set up a males only society group but it was seen as discrimination towards woman, yet woman are allowed to have woman only clubs and nights .

What's the story with nightclubs who let women in for free whilst charging a tenner for a man to get in? Smells bad to me.

    aye, that's certainly irritating.

course the truth of it is that it means more women in the club :)

Snaggle, I don't profess to be:

    a) a feminist
    b) a member of the spice girls
    c) particularly stunning
    d) particularly bothered about who wants to see pictures of anyone else

My reaction to Jackass's post was based on the fact that I, however paranoid, saw myself being neatly set up to take a fall something close to the following:

"I hear she's hot, oh there's a pic, jaysus she's got a face like a well slapped arse and an arse like a bursted couch, she's a boot, I wouldn't make her my dog's bitch, wow you lot are blind etc."

and decided to get in a bit of pre-emptive flaming.

Believe it or not, I'm occasionally quite a nice person. I'd rather people passed judgements on me on that basis as opposed to what I look like.

Mathematically that’s quite valid, if they statistically cause more crime. But we’re not governed by mathematics alone – otherwise it would be logical to terminate those who are non-productive in society, like the homeless, the elderly or middle managers.

I remember speaking at a UCD Women’s Group meeting about ten years ago on the subject of male only golf clubs. What struck me is that the reception that followed was open only to women. Hmmm...

Women have been discriminated against, and in certain areas will continue to be so. However, this situation has changed and they’re more than capable of doing the reverse – try getting ahead in marketing or HR nowadays.

And some of this discrimination, such as gentlemanly behaviour, is not discouraged by women either – making it more difficult for men to take the matter seriously. To quote P. J. O’Rourke: "How much fame, money, and power does a woman have to achieve on her own before you can punch her in the face."

As for the Majd incident, had someone done the same to me (given I am very attractive ;) ) I would have found it quite creepy, imho.

Probably not, but Amp would have put out a contract on your head...

FWIW - I didn't think Majd's response was uncalled for or over the top, although yes, some of the chivalrous lay-my-coat-in-the-puddle-for-you-m'am responses were a bit puke inducing :)

Course, the other thing is, you asking for pictures of Mills would be taken in jest. If you actually made unwanted sexual advances towards another guy, I'd imagine that for most blokes, the reaction would be even more extreme than if you did so towards a woman... (Well not Mills obviously but then again he's an intelligent, open-minded chap. And he loves it up him, too.)

Perhaps you're not, but you certainly made use of the bitching that modern feminism affords you

I don't think anybody was under the impression that you were a spice girl

    c) particularly stunning

    Nobody said you said that

    d) particularly bothered about who wants to see pictures of anyone else

Just people who might want to see a picture of you?

I'm sorry you feel that way, doesn't change the fact that you were a bitch, which you're perfectly entitled to being. I just find it sad that all the online tough guys were trying to take down jackass for wanting to see a picture of you.

v.silly behaviour altogether, someone wants to see a pic, is it a big deal = No.

Majd are you sure your not just teasing and being extremely modest about the fact a good few of us think your a lovely girl and you know it, no point in pretending now is there?

I mean if you asked jackass for his pic then I'm sure there'd be no problem, seems like you want to shut yourself out for some reason, been getting too much attention lately? :p

Thats not exactly true. Women have more accidents, but genrally hit stationry objects (they cant park) due to (in genral) their 3d spacial orentation being worse. Theres a relitivly small amount of damge done, and in alot of cases wont bother claiming.
Guys aged 18 - 25 genrally completely write cars off and cause thousands of euros worth of damage.

I'm not sure if it is illigal to discriminate against male drivers when giving insurance, there are women only insurance firms now'n days.

I dont think there is such a thing as a feminest tbh. Only part - time ones. They only want eqaility when it suits them.

Haha this is some funny **** and I'm in total agreement with snaggle here. I've seen it so many times anytime some random bird on the internet feels as if she's been insulted and gets on her high horse 200 little nerd internet virgins rush to her assistance blindly hoping she'll fall madly in love with them and finally break their anal hymens.

It's quite sickening. Jackass if you want the naked majd pictures don't come to me because I don't have any. But if you ever happen to find any get in touch with me right away.
