Magic link setup

I got the T.V. link- magic eye yesterday and ran a cable from from my digi box to my second t.v. but when I went about pluging my cable into the back of my digi box my connecter fitting would'ent fit into the 2RF output socket with the 9volts,

Can I buy female conecters on their own or does the cable have to be soldered to the connection?
Or can I use some type of adapter for the fitting for the 2RF outlet
Once I setup the secret menu do I have to turn the digibox off.

Can any one with experience of setting up the T.V. link give me any advice of what things not to do.

    Thank You

Use a double female or "back to back" connector

Actually since someone else has started speaking about the magic eye, I have a quick question.

I have a magic eye which i wired up myself about 3 weeks ago at first it seemed to be doing its job just fine, but lately I find that it does not work at all . I checked that the 9 volts was on etc but still nothing. The only way I can seem to get it to work is by pluging the digibox out for a minute or so, replug it in and you get about 30 seconds where you can use the remote, then it goes dead again. Has anyone else encountered this problem before and if they have any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    John

One possibility is that the digibox is detecting a slightly high current load, check your coax connections again.Although you may be getting a perfect picture the may be a slight voltage impedance problem. To check the box plug the tv link into the box with out the cable and see does the same thing happen, this would rule the cable out as the cause if the light still goes out and point the finger either at the digibox or the eye itself.

    Hope this helps

    Well Tony,

I tried what you said and it works fine without the coax I installed, so I reinstalled it upstairs and guess what, it still does not work. I checked my connections and they seem to be fine, also in relation to the red light it stays on constantly even when it does not work so it is recieving power. The only thing i can think of now is that my cable run is too long and may have dropped the power to 7 or 8 volts. The length of cable used was around 25 feet, if you verify that this may be causeing it, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Once again thanks in advance

Is it a continuous run of cable, ie no wallplates splitters etc?

    :p

The magic eye is the business. I ordered it from Tony on Satellite.ie, and had it within 24 hours. A very impressive service, with emails confirming order and shipment etc.

Is it normal for the red light to remain on, at all times with the magic eye? just wondering

    Tony,

It is a continuous run no splits at all.

Thanks for the kind words Bazza. John the only other thing it could be is the coax connections themselves, try putting a slight kink in the centre conductor to make good contact and make sure planty of braid is outside the cable clamp.

    Hope this helps

Thanks Mom :-) Seriously is it the light where it plugs into the tv or the light on the remote sensor?

Maybe you can help me guys....

I am considering buying a One 4 All digisender.... the one with the two little oval things. I don't want to be messing around with wires, etc. Are they any good? Also what's the best price?

    Oz.

    Hi Tony,

The red light on the TV link remains on when I plug it into the input section of my 2nd TV. Is this normal?

Hi, There are two red lights , one on the sensor (ie the little mouse that sits on your tv) and one where it plugs into the back of yout tv which should be on.

I think you just answered my problem. I have only the one light on the connection but not on the mouse sensor, so my eye may be, how do i put it, knackered. Ah well I got it for nothing maybe I should go and buy a new one lol

Thanks for all your help Tony I owe you one.

Hi John, The light on the sensor normally only comes on when the unit is powered and you send a remote command to it and sometimes they still work without the light coming on at all!! Plug the link straight into the back of the box, cover the remote sensor on the digibox and see if the link still works, it may well be ok.
