I now believe Sky should have an Irish section which deals with ROI issues ONLY. Judging from going thru all the threads I think they would be kept very busy- Does anyone agree? If they have 225,000 subscribers in ROI, as they claim, then surley to god that warrants its own desk!

They certainly could do with a channel 998/9 that is targetted at ROI customers.
It's not fair to be promoting unavailable services as information to ROI customers.

I disagree. What they need to do is get all the services available to us here in the Republic. Then they can show whatever they want on 998 and 999.

They have appointed a director for Ireland, Mark Deering, and have a Dublin sales office. But believe me, they will only do for Ireland what they know will make them money (although it makes you wonder about Sky Active then). Anything that can be done by Iselworth (and Livingstone) will be done there.

How can you contact this Dublin sales office, Any time I ring a Dublin Sky Nr , I get put thru to Scotland and they are no help in trying to answer "Irish queries"

Mark Deering's number is available on this page, the RTÉ press release on their launch on Sky Digital (towards the end.)

Not a chance. Livingston is a cheaper place to have a call centre.

They'll only help you if you want to buy some advertising time on Sky One or Sky News...
