    Hi,
I just got sky digital recently in Dublin, and the guy on the phone offered me the installation for €38 instead of €100 if i subscribed to Sky World at the very start, he then said i could downgrade after a month, to whatever package i wanted. As a new customer, i was wondering if anyone could tell me this:

how long before the months subscription to sky World is over, should i ring up to cancel it and downgrade, as i don't want it to overflow onto the next month, and have to pay a second €53.

    thanks

Sky will charge you per day-so if you are one month and one day you get charged for that day and then the next month you get charged for the lower package less one day.
You can ring them on the one month aniversary to arrange this.

Expect a grilling from their "programme advisor" who will come on the Phone and go " Blah...blah...blah...we do our best to give you the best movie package.......etc".
But resist! Be firm! you are the Boss not them.

I didn't know you could do this, I thought you had to subscribe to the world package for 12 months. Obviously not

    I think I might arrange a new installation :D

I hope the guy comes to the phone and I will give him a grilling of my own... ;)

    :D

Like me, you've had success in closing bank accounts, haven't you.

Ah yes, it reminds me of a time a few years ago, when I went into the AIB on College Green to close an account.

Needless to say, they try to harangue, harass and cajole me into keeping my account with them open, but after a long and determined struggle I managed to close the account and walk out of the bank with my head held high, and my 57p in my pocket !!

The moral of the story is - just keeping saying "no" (even if it is only for 57p). :):):):)

i down-graded about 2 weeks into the second month, so as i had already paid, i got a rebate off the next months subs

they did ask me why i was getting rid of sky movies
so i told them the truth

    its cr@p.
    no more questions followed

    speaking of downgrading...

im thinking of ditching sky sports 2 and extra
is there much of a price difference
im currently on sky sports world @45 euro per month
and i want to get the 27 euro pack + sky sports 1 (& sky sports 3 is free) does anyone know what price this would be?
Ive looked on ICDG website, but it only has the price for sky sports world
