Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How many of you listen to the more obscure bands?
here i actually found mp3.com to be a GREAT help(that and college's 20mbit internet connection)
the best i've found are Quo Vadis and .hopesfall.
right now i'm listening to The End Of An Era By .hopesfall. ..it's really good kinda heavy but mellow's out.harsh lyrics but they really complement the music.i'd say check it out..
they come under metalcore..it's more like Opeth with heavier guitars(more simple though!) and harsher lyrics.

anyone else gonna suggest some good obscure bands..please say what kind of music they are and what you think of them

Abbadon Incarnate (Irish Death/Grind Metallers). Pretty good band. You should find a few mp3's of them on AudioGalaxy.

Hehe I know all of them, sound lads.Yeah,we definitely need more people promoting the Irish scene like that...

Triumphator, throne of nails, goatwhore, geasa, gore beyond necropsy, retch and flesh parade are all fairly good underground bands as well.In my opinion anyhow ... :P

Eyes closed are NOT death metal my friend. The lead singer has a great voice though...

I know my stuff and I'd call them experimental death metal. Big influences from Morbid Angel, I'd say.

    What would you call them?

I dunno how unknown you want but these bands aren't too well known, i think

    Primordial
    Mael Mordha
    Dark Throne
    Belinus

I have seen all these bands with the exception of Dark Throne (who i really want to see) Mael Mordha are probably the least known but the best in my opinion

Darkthrone are pretty well known, I'd think.

Like I said: Listen to Melechesh.

    They're a band from Jerusalem.
Basically blending their cultural traditional style into Black Metal.
Think an Isreali Cruchaun. Only way better. Very original stuff. Hearing the eastern drum patterns worked into blastbeats is something VERY special. And they can write some damn good songs.
    Very refreshing to hear.

    V-Mob. www.v-mob.com
Great American (I think) Band. you can download some songs from their website. I'd reccomend "Benevolence" and "Reflection" you can get some of their stuff on Kazaa too.
X-constant are a really good Irish band too. Don't know where you can get their stuff but I saw them live once and their were pretty kickass

Check out 'Lucas'. Four rather tasty lads, now performing regularly in Whelans, Vicar Street, TBMC, and Eamon Dorans. Just released their debut single "Little Devil" available at Road Records - Fade Street. I'd describe them as a soft rock band. Influences such as dEUS, Jeff Buckley and Gomez. They're one hell of a band.

Find out for yerself on www.lucasade.com

Er... I think you've lost the point of this thread. Read Ruaidhri's post again.
