    hey,
I dunno if this is the best place to put this but sure i'll give it a go anyways, its like this right, a mate of mine is a DJ and hes put a few pretty lethal mixes of his own onto cd and he wants to make them available on the net anyone who wants to hear them because he wants to get known....a few ppl told him theres message boards to do this on....question is does anyone know these message boards? and what would be the best way to get your music over the net.
I know you can put it in your shared folder in kazaa and that but sure no one will download it if they don't know you?...any ideas would be a great help...cheers

    Farls

    here

If he uploads it to somewere,a nd then go to those forums above and tells people where they're avaible to download, he *could* get picked up if the right person see's it, there are DJ's from many stations such as kiss FM, X-Energy crew, MadFM, Spin, Nova few other people such as James davids and John power are there.. but he could get asked to join a priate radio station and do a set there, if he makes a good impression he could work his way up ie. DJ on KissFm, who are run by Temple theatre, so he could get a set in temple and then start off there

though realistically the only way to get gigs is to bypass the tape stage go to the venue yourself and run the night too. get dj off said radio station to depend on you for work. learn what you can. remember djing is a business, youve got to be strict with yourselves. unless youre realllly amazing you probably wont get any reaction of just sending out tapes... try and get to know the ppl you give the tapes to before you even mention that you even own decks. that way an you wont be thought of as some random who wants a go [as i was for aaages] and is bugging the dj and his good mates. remember, the wheels of the dance music industry are greased on certain types of fuel.... buckfast will sway anyone! what does your mate play?
