TiVo and Network 2 on Sky Digital

I live in Somerset UK but am using an Irish subscription to Sky Digital (thats another story!).
Anyway on Tuesday RTE became available via Sky Digital on channel 101, Network 2 on 102, TV3 on 103 and TG4 on 104.
During yetserdays TiVo update, the new message came up that TiVo had found new channels RTE1 on 101 and Network 2 on 102.
These channels have now been added to Tivo and programme info is coming down like all other channels.
The problem i have is that it hasnt said anyththing about TV3 or TG4 on Sky Digital 103 and 104.
I forced an early update today but these channels are not listed as an addition.
How can i manually add these channels so that TiVo responds and sends the programme info down?
I underdtand that Tivo is not supported in Ireland but if RTE1 and Network 2 is ok, then why isnt TV3 and TG4?
    Can anyone help?

    Ed

Hi Ed, I dont think anyone here has a Tivo box, a wee bit pointless as it doesn't dial an Irish number.

    Prove me wrong folks!

    Ed,
The TiVo box gets it's info from TiVo, not SKY, so once TV3 and TG4 start sending TiVo listings I'm sure they'll appear.

The reason TIVO picked up RTÉ 1 and Network 2 is that they are available on NTL Digital in the North.

But then the TiVo would be set for cable channels, NOT sat and they wouldn't be on 101 and 102 surely ?

i can confirm that YES RTE1 and NETWORK 2 are on 101 and 102 on Tivo.
Still nothing for 103 or 104 though.

    this is a guess.
But I think shane is right.
    Tivo may be listings based.
It cannot rcognise TV3 and TG4 as it's never heard of them-but it has heard of RTÉ one and Network two as they are on an NTL network(Belfast) in the UK.
    mm
So based on that Hunch, your tivo won't recognise the others untill the rights are sorted and they appear on sd in ni.
p.s-wish tivo was available here-or sky plus:(

It is listings based, the listings actually go from the UK to TiVo in the states and then back to the UK to be sent to the box.
The odd thing is, unless ED you have your box configured to think it's watching an ntl feed, rather than a sat feed, the RTE listings shouldn't be there. Because surely the channel numbers on ntl cable are different from those on a digibox ? I have RTE 1 and Net 2 off air via the tuner, but can't get any listings for them on my box.

Well as it's happened, then this must have something to do with the relationship between the software in the digibox and that in the Tivo.

Out of curiosity does the Tivo list all the Sky digital channels?
Eg can you set it to record something obscure on Al jazeera for instance or on one of the Indian/pakistani channels?

Isn't that an NBC movie of the week, starring George Clooney as Osama, and Meryl Streep as the woman in the burkha who broke his heart - guest starring George Peppard as George Bush, and Mr T as Colin Powell.

They're billing it as an "A-Team reunion in hills of Afghanistan"

As RTE1 and Network 2 were already available on TiVo - they were added on launch day.

TV3/TG4 should appear tonight (or tomorrow)

They aren't and never have been on my TiVo box. AND if they suddenly popped up as being on 101 and 102 I'd be pretty pissed off as I'd then be unable to get the box to record BBC1 or BBC2. I can understand them being listed under a box set up to be connected to ntl cable though.

Give Tivo some credit! If you have a Sky UK subscription your 101-104 channels will be as listed. However, if Tivo is told you are a Sky Eire customer, Tivo previouslt had no listing that preceded 106 (Sky One).

They now do - and as ozsat says, TV3 and TG4 are on their way. For UK based viewers, this adds considerably to their channel cohice, as the RF tuner is used for terrestrial, and Sky provides RTE et al on 101-104.

eh, well when I asked them, as a subscriber, for the RTE listings, to be made available for RTE on the tuner I was told the box wasn't supported in Ireland. Then again things change, I wasn't aware TiVo had started to support Sky Digital in Ireland. I'll give them another call.....

Just had an update and a new message. Some channels have moved on the EPG, but still no sign of TV3 and TG4 as additions.

It all hinges what you mean by ´support´- Tivo itself is not supported in the ROI by the Tivo CS team, which also happens to by Sky. However, where programme listing are shared, the Tivo software does have an ROI locality selection available, and it will pull in BBC and RTE in their correct places for the Sky Digibox customer in the ROI. It is important to remember there is no official Tivo dialup from the ROI to the Worldcom node (doe the updading of listings) but there are enthusiasts who are doing this using TivoNet and an IP connection instead.

A problem has stopped the TV3/TG4 listings appearing on TiVo - it is being looked into!

Pity, but even just with RTE listings, I´m amazed at how far ahead RTE is with Series´s not premiered on Sky.... sometimes even 2 years in advance! If RTE becomes legitimately available in the UK, I see CH5 et al suffering as a result!

does anyone know when this 'problem' will be rectified?

TV3IRL and TV4 are now available on TiVo/Sky Ireland

Yes, i have had the download today. Great news. However, when i go into PICK PROGRAMMES TO RECORD, there is still no programme information. It just states TV3 PROGREAMMING and TG4 PROGRAMMING.

Mmm - I think may relate to the fact that Ireland is not yet supported and the channels are not (strickley) available outside of Ireland.

is there any way round this ?

This thread is making me(and possibly ShaneOC) very jealous:(
When can I have my Tivo Toy in ROI??
Or will I have to splash out on a DVD recorder??
Incidently-I think Shane in another thread a while back was investigating the "legal" issues that Sky were claiming were delaying Sky plus( and possibly Tivo?) in ROI.
    Any news on that?
    mm

Jealous doesn't even come close. :(

According to the government here there are no legal issues. The copyright legislation is platform independant as technology is constantly progressing and they don't want to have to introduce new legislation every time someone brings out a new format. Clever or what.

Anyway Sky's latest is that there is not an option on their database to activate Sky+ here but they say that there should be some news on it by the end of June.

Time for another email me thinks.

Not an option on their database???
What exactly does that mean did they say?
I'm a paddy by the way....what would I want with Sky plus shur I wouldn't know how to work it...How annoying.
why don't they tell the truth instead of garbage!

I have sent off a nice long email to them about this as well as the Sky One series links issue.

Fair play to RTÉ and TV3 on that front, by the way, any weekly programmes that I have added have all had series links set up.
