"SKY is to offer banking and home shopping to its 230,000 Irish subscribers who have satellite dishes.

The customers will also be able to use a range of interactive services such as email, sms messaging and games over the digital system.

Mark Deering, director of Sky Ireland, said the company was talking to major banks about providing the financial services.

It is also in discussions with retailers about establishing home shopping links.

Sky would not offer full access to the internet, but would operate with a limited number of sites which had been redesigned to make them "TV friendly," he said....."

    Hmmmm.
Now I would only consider their banking services if the call my digibox made was to a 1800 number.
What way would this be charged,I wonder??

And when will the services start ?

Do the digiboxes in the UK use Freefone numbers (apart from the games ones ) ?

12p to connect, local call rates thereafter.
