I saw this recently on sky digital.. i always heard it was the worst film of all time... i was surprised.. it was enjoyable.. not brilliant but i dont think it deserved the slating it got.. it could have been a lot better too.. it had potential i think.. It was about as watchable as Waterworld was.. good to watch but not the best film ever made..

I hope that was meant sarcastically!

I personally found your comment very insulting to waterworld!

FFS I read the book and loved it, I am a John Travolta fan, I am a SCI FI fan and watch the most ridiculous films on the Sci Fi channell BUT even i found it to be the biggest load of cr/\p ever shown!

I watched it again recently on Sky movies, just to be sure i didnt just have a bad day or something, and my worst fears were reconfirmed.

No seriously i enjoyed it.. Waterworld was probably better in fairness... i have seen a LOT worse movies than Battlefield Earth though.. Dungeons and Dragons is the absolute worst!

waaaayyyy too much comic relief in that, black guy was funny then they killed him! wtf, well i suppose up till then i thought it was a comedy , they probably would of been better off flogging it off as a comedy ;)

Battlefield earth didn't do too much for Travolta's career!! The word is that the guy who wrote the novel "Battlefiled Earth" is a scientologist as is Travolta so possible he has an interest in the project because of that rather than the merit of the book. (not that there was any apparently!!)

Thats true Kalina.. L ron hubbard was the guy who wrote the book of scientology or whatever its called.. Surprised Tom cruise did not get involved too! probably all proceeds went to the church of scientology..

anyway my point is i watched the film expecting the worst but got a watchable film instead.. so was enjoyable in that sense.. i had nothing better to do at the time! Anyway Had i gone see it at the movies expecting a good film i would have been bitterly dissapointed! I watched it with the thought it would be utter tripe and it was not the worst film i have ever seen!

I've heard bad things about the book but still, I'll give the movie a go. I like John Travolta, he was deadly in Swordfish, but I hear he's almost unrecognisable in BE. Pity!!:)

Oh no he looks like himself mostly.. he is the only Alien who looks almost human.. interesting...
Oh how many times did you see Swordfish? First time was cool.. second i fell asleep it was so boring!

If you've read the book its a truly disappointing let down. Pretty crap compared to the book, but then most films are.

If you havent then its pretty decent.

I actually enjoyed it, but then I'm one of those people who actually thought waterworld was pretty good, and I really liked the postman.

Ya, the postman wasn't so bad...except for the fact i was titled 'the postman', i didn't think waterworld was ****e either.
Have yet to see battlefield earth though

the only reason why anyone agreed to star in battlefield earth was becaue they were john travolta's friends!!!

i have never seen it but from what i hear it was complete and uttet dirt!!!!!

even sky when they were advertising it said it was absolute sh1t - and they even try to make every crappy tv movie that there showing on moviemax sound good!!!

I've read Battlefield earth and i had to burn the book afterwards so that it would never again harm another living soul!

It took me a month to read it, it was that bad

i will not see the film for the principle of it!

    Saw it today actually....

Heard teh whole " worst film ever" tales but sdaid I may as well watch it and decide for myself.

Can honestly say....I dont know what to think!?!

Batman & Robin was much worse so I can safely say it wasn't the worst flick ever
