2 TV's 1 digibox what to do

I have 2 tellys in my house one in the sitting room and one in the bedroom, both are connected to my digi box, (no problem there) but if I'm lying in bed and I want to change channel I have to run down the stairs in my jocks and change the channel with my remote!
My question is what options are there available to me, I've heard of a T.V. link but don't know much about it or what other options are available to me (and save me from getting a chill)

    :D:D:D

    Hi John
You can get an infra-red switcher made by One For All. I think Argos or most good electrical shops sell them

On the back of the digibox box u have an RF2 outlet and to use the digi link u MUST run a coax lead from this outlet to the 2nd tv and then u connect the magic EYE between the 2nd tv and the digibox using a coax cable. It is dead easy. The next bit is important in that u must power on the second RF2 outlet as it is that which makes the link work. The power on is done by accessing the secret menu. U can even save money by using your existing remote. The sky link is advertised in What Satellite mag.

Have a look on here for a bit more info

look here for the magic EYE.

Buy both ie eye and remote for £20.00

Say I wanted to get rid of NTL and have only SKY Digital. How would I setup my house with its 4 tellys to change the channel on the digibox from each room. I know the magic eye (or whatever its called) will work, but what if I want to have mutliple magic eyes around the house.

Is there some sort of 4 way splitter/amp for doing this?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi OculusDei

I bought the gear from argos in Dublin, basically, I got one 'transmitter' and 2 'receivers'.

The transmitter sits in the front room attached to the digibox and broadcasts the signal over a small gigahertz dish, is also has a little infra-red thingie (technical term) which sites on the front of the digibox next to the IR port.

The 2 receivers are each in 2 seperate rooms upstairs, they receive the video and sound and send it to the tv thru a standard scart, and they have a little ir port and antennae, which they can use to send ir signals back to the digibox, hence remote controlling the channel, etc.

Both receivers can work at the same time, and basically fight each other for control of the viewing :) But it works and was handier than runnin cables all over the gaff! :)

    Hope that helps,
    Stephen

If it helps, here is the link http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/commerce/command/ExecMacro/ols_prod_detl.d2w/report?prrfnbr=5351637&prmenbr=6970&type=big&thisMode=ols&cgrfnbr=66354

(They used to sell the receivers seperately too)

    Hi.
I recently sent an email to One for All regarding the same problem of changing channels in multiple rooms and this is the respone they sent..(My question was more detailed - ie. if you wanted to have multiple remote controls in various rooms working just one single device in a seperate room)

    Question
    >
    > Product:
    > Remote-ID:
    > Chip:
    > Device:
    > Brand:
    > Model:
    > Original Remote Nr.:

    > SV100 - for example if I wanted a remote control in the bedroom and one
    > in the kitchen and the AV device in question was in the living room - would
    > the one transmitter do in the living room and 2 recievers (Bedroom and
    > Kitchen)
    >

    Answer
You can have one receiver and two transmitters with the newer(no
more than 1 year old,approx)sv1000.Do you need anymore
    information?

    Hope this helps..

Hi Tom, Its probably because they are using one or more passive splitters, when the digibox detects any short circuit or high load it shuts off the power. IF all the wires come back to a central splitting point then you can replace the splitter with some thing like a T140 amp. If you dont want to go near the wiring you could try using a wireless unit like a powermid or other devices from Argos etc.

    Hope this helps
