    WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - The Associated Press via NewsEdge Corporation : A teen-ager pleaded guilty to extortion Friday for e-mailing a threat to detonate bombs at the headquarters of IBM unless he received $5 million.
    Prosecutors said Jahair Joel Navarro, of New York City, sent a similar threat to Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates a day before he sent his message to IBM in August.
    Navarro, 18, faces a maximum of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine at sentencing on May 18.
    No bombs were found, but investigators did find literature on bomb-making and terrorism that had been downloaded to his computer, according to the indictment.
    Authorities said Navarro sent the bomb threats to IBM Chief Executive Officer Lou Gerstner at company headquarters in Armonk and to Gates at Microsoft headquarters in Redmond, Wash.
    He identified himself as ``Shadowmega,'' claimed he had placed five bombs that would destroy the headquarters and demanded $5 million not to set them off, according to court papers.
    The e-mails were traced to the apartment of Navarro's stepfather in Brooklyn, where the teen-ager was arrested.
