Microsoft Says Yes to Halo for PC
    Reported by: David Laprad

We have avoided jumping on the Halo PC news bandwagon because a great deal of conflicting and fluctuating information has circulated about whether a PC version of the hit Xbox game would still appear. To address persistent recent reader emails, however, we decided to prod Microsoft about whether there would still be a PC version of Halo. Their answer was, yes, there will be one, but there’s nothing more to say at the moment. The public relations representative handling the PC game said more information would be made available “down the road.” This leaves a lot of questions unanswered: How much will change? When will it appear? But it is a start.

You can say what you like, but I notice Avault haven't named a source. And it wouldn't be the first time they've made something up :)

(Not that it matters. Halo would suck arse on the PC.)

Well .. considering that it was designed for the PC in the first place, that must mean by your logic that HALO X-Box sucks teh bit in between the arse :p

Well errrm, actually it was originally designed for the mac. Then they decided to develope it also for the PC and released tons of demos for it. Then the PC fps obsessed gamers moaned and bitch about how it's 3rd person so therefore sucks so they basically turned it into another typical FPS. Then bungie got bought out by microsoft, mac and pc development pretty much ceased and it was redesigned to suit a console. It'll probably such because most console games do suck on a pc but the pc version will probably be quite different to the console version.

I'm not the worlds biggest fan of Halo Xbox, it's true. However, Halo as it exists now was originally designed for the console - there's bugger all in there from the original PC/Mac design of the game. It's a console game, through and through.

correction: console fps through and through....and worse off for it, 3rd person with TR-stlye auto aiming might have made it better. Mouse has been proved time and time again the only real option for any sort of fast-paced FPS that requires manual accuracy.
And now the uber-fiends have taken my beloved OPF and basterdised it :(

Well, EB have a release date of August for it on the PC. Dont know if they just pulled that out of a hat or they know something we dont.....

I think it'd work pretty well as a PC game with a little tweaking.
    Take out the autoaim.
    Increase the enemy speed/AI.

It won't take the pc world by storm but it would be a bit of fun.

EB (and Amazon) have release dates for CM4 too - they just made them up as no one outside our office (and some ppl at Eidos) who what tdate were aiming for yet...

so dont take too much attention of dates on shop walls

About Halo being a PC game, read back on any games news site. We had 2 or 3 videos of a games called Halo, and then MS bought the company and 18 months later we had Halo. 18 months of development means its no longer a PC game. Also look at the game, among a bag load of issues its plain too short for the PC and needs new level designs.

They will either release a crap PC game ALA Metal Gear Solid (which Microsoft did the PC game for BTW) and Final Fantasy 7 or go back to work and release a decient PC game in 12-18 months time...
