    Hi all,
it's nearly time for DCUtv - Dublin City University's very own TV broadcast.
DCUtv 2002 will begin this Monday (22nd) and will run through until Friday, 26th April.
It's available to all NTL customers on the Link Channel, and will be broadcast from 11.05pm to 12.05am.
All the programmes are STUDENT-MADE for STUDENT TASTE.
To view this year's schedule visit: www.dcutv.tk
We hope you'll all enjoy our sometimes funny, sometimes informative, but always entertaining TV programmes.
If you don't, or you'd like to make a comment, feel free to e-mail: dcumediaprod@yahoo.com
    Enjoy,
    John Caulfield (Programme's Officer)

It's not available on an indoor aerial. You must have cable via NTL. Its on the channel that's Nickelodeon in the day, Spanish, German and Italian news around 7, and invariably Samba Soccer or "Eurowatch" after 9.

It's only on for an hour a night because if we put any more on we would have to revamp old programmes like "Mailbag" or host our very own Eurovision - now is that really what you want?

Yes "Regeneration" won an Oxygen Smedia Award for best TV Production on Wednesday night. Two other programmes: Philomena's Cosy Night Time Corner (Friday 26th) and Behind Closed Doors (Thurs 25th) were shortlisted for the award.

Ahh, so we can look forward to culinary classics like "101 Different Ways To Eat Baked Beans", documentaries on "How washing and personal hygeine is for losers" and instructional programs on how to fleece the taxpayer into paying for your beer for several years while learning nothing of value to the world. All spiced up with the occasional Party Political Broadcast from the Socialist Workers Party!

To be honest "Student-made for Student Taste" is (what I thought was) a catchy slogan. Although all the programmes are made by students, we hope the subject matter will cater for most adults.
As well as comedy shows (or what we like to call Mockumentaries), programmes on up-and-coming young bands (Rockumentaries) and exposés on the mysterious events in affluent south Dublin suburbs (Foxrockumentaries) - OK that one was a joke - there are documentaries on the Ballymun Regeneration, Life as a Nun, Alcoholism, etc. as well as Travel Programmes from Toronto and Boston, and two short films.

im a long time fan of DCUTV and I remember a while back (2/3 years possibly) there was a short film named "wednesdayface" about a clay face on a wall and a magical lemon tree. does anyone know where i can get a copy ?

Student made = poor sound, naff ideas ("hey, let's do a documentary on cannibas or LSD!") , sloppy editing, different contrast & colour on each camera in the same scenes, and pretencious scripts.
