Rumours of Veron leaving for Barca

I saw a report on tv text that Barcelona are looking for Veron in exchange for a fee and Reizeger.

I hate Utd but maybe this might be a good deal for them, if it goes ahead. They could do with a defender like Reizeger and Veron must be p****ed off with his season. The fans haven't exactly been great with him. i don't think he fits in there - always thought that.

I never heed them at all. Veron will not leave, it will take him this season to "bed" in but next year i expect him to command midfield.

As for been ****e Bard, as I have said before he is ****e at been a defensive midfielder but his finishing and passing eg. spurs and depor have been outstanding

No becks, no keane, a european cup semi final on the horizon. I wouldn't at all be surprised if a couple of good performances and maybe a goal or two against bayren and listen to the united fans change.

For the price paid for him and the crazy wages he is presumably on he has not done enough.

It doesnt help that United probably have the best midfield in Europe and he has to dislodge one of them. When he has had his chance he hasnt taken it on enough occasions. Sure he played well against Depor but what about Boro at home? No point doing it in one big Euro game and then do f**k all in the bread and butter league games.

There will be a lot of responsibility now that Keane is out for the first leg against Bayer and also the league game at Chelsea.

I hope he stands up and performs but somehow I cant see it happening and could well see him leave during the summer.

As for Reiziger, if he cant get on a Barca team with a worst defence than United then theres no way United should sign.

Top three defenders on the shopping list should be Valgaeren, Nesta and Ayala.

rofl - **** off! There's no way that would happen. Fergie would not swap a 28M rated player for a defender - let alone pay a fee on top of it. I doubt Fergie will breach 15M for a new defender.

There's rumors of Veron not being happy at United and wanting to go back to Lazio, but I doubt he'd go to Barcelona. Some hack probably made it up on a slow news day. There's a million false reports like this every year.

Veron's form has been a bit hot and cold this season but he's an outstanding player, and Fergie will do everything he can to get him to stay. If we reach the CL final, it could be a big factor in convincing him to stay. If we win it, I really doubt he would leave.

Ain't it amazing how people point out one mistake by Veron vs Boro and yet forget to mention Keanes og vs. Real Madrid and his back pass to Batistuta vs Fiorentina a few seasons ago. We all make mistakes. Alright Veron hasn't played the best for United this season buthe has put in some very good performances against Depor, Olympiakos (two decent teams) and Derby (a ****e team) so don't tell me he only puts on the show for the big matches.

Veron is simply not needed by United, never has been and never will be. He is too similar a player to Keane but would be a poor replacement. He's like a present Ferguson bought for himself but now wishes he could give back.

Thats bull... he is nothing like Roy Keane, Roy is a defensive midfielder and Juan is an attacking midfielder playing in a defensive role. If he's similar to any United player its Paul Scholes.

He would probably be more suited to Barce's play though and get a better chance to play. The fact is Keane, Beckham, Scholes and Giggs play great as a unit and know each others games really well. Veron doesnt really fit into it too well.
If Utd sell him, it would give them more funds to buy the likes of Nesta who they would do better with.

They may be a great unit but you could never suggest 4 midfield players is enough. Between Gigg's hamstring, Keane's knees, etc. all four playing is rare enough. 4 quality stand-in's are essential, and if Veron plays well, Scholes will be the stand-in.

That's a good point but I dont think a player like Veron would expect to be a replacement when he could get a first team place with almost any other team.
Anyway I want him to go to Barce coz I support them.

I think if he plays well Scholes will be the stand in, and Veron will be the first name on the team sheet. With injures and a long list of games there's room for 6/7 top quality players in midfield.
